Calorifier Inspections

Calorifier Inspections

Internal inspections, descaling, and condition reporting for hot water storage vessels

Calorifiers (hot water storage cylinders) are critical components in commercial and residential heating systems. Over time, they accumulate scale, sediment, and debris — reducing efficiency, increasing energy costs, and creating conditions that can harbour Legionella bacteria. Regular inspection is essential for both compliance and operational efficiency.

Same Water provides comprehensive calorifier inspection services, including internal visual inspection, descaling, sacrificial anode assessment, and detailed condition reporting. We identify issues early — before they become expensive breakdowns or compliance failures.

What's Included

Internal inspection

Visual inspection of the calorifier's internal surfaces for scale, corrosion, sediment, and pitting. We photograph the interior and document our findings.

Descaling

Removal of limescale build-up that reduces heat transfer efficiency and creates harbourage for bacteria.

Anode Check

Assessment of sacrificial anodes (if fitted) and recommendation for replacement when depleted. Anodes protect the calorifier shell from corrosion.

Temperature Verification

We check that storage and flow temperatures meet L8 requirements (60°C storage, 50°C distribution within one minute).

Condition Report

A detailed written report with photographs, risk scoring, and recommendations for any remedial work required.
